An annual festival aimed at children and adults with special needs and disabilities is returning to Swindon this summer.
Embrace All was set up by Rachael Chun and Katie Brown in February 2023 while they were both on maternity leave from their jobs in social care.
The idea started with bi-monthly disco nights at Tree nightclub, before welcoming 100 attendees to their first festival last summer.
On Sunday, July 21, at the Supermarine Sports Club in South Marston, visitors can expect live music, a magician, a Makaton choir, a mobile farm, a sensory area and food and drink stalls.
Rachael said: “It’s a family-friendly day and our events are tailored to individuals.
"For example, we make sure our timings are the most suitable for people, as we’ve trialled them in the past, which makes it more accessible.
“The mobiloo means people who need support are not restricted and the programme will use Makaton for people who can’t read so they can understand the symbols.
“Many of our food and drink vendors and performers have disabilities. The aim is to be inclusive, there’s not really anything like it in Swindon.”
Tickets are £15 and the money goes towards making sure they can organise future events, but carers and parents go free.
