Restaurants, cafés and pubs in Swindon have received their latest food hygiene rating and have passed with flying colours.

Following recent inspections by Swindon Borough Council officers, five establishments have been told their food hygiene is very good and given a five out of five ranking.

Inspection officers base their ratings on three areas: hygiene food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.

First on the list is Brew Book, located at the Upper Stratton Library, which was rated on July 2.

The café received a top rating in its first food hygiene inspection since opening in April.

They were ranked good for hygienic food handling and very good for cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.

Hannah Fruen, who had the idea to open the café, told the Adver: “We were working really hard towards this and keeping our fingers crossed, so it was amazing to hear that we'd received the highest rating.”
