A Korean restaurant in Swindon has been told been told it requires improvement in its latest food hygiene inspection.
The Bap, located in the Brunel Shopping Centre, was visited by inspectors on June 10 and rated a two out of five.
They found improve was necessary for the handling of food, while the management of food safety was generally satisfactory and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building was good.
Owner DJ Kim, who opened the restaurant in May 2022, said: “The other shops in Reading and Farnborough have a five and I would not even be happy with a four, so it was really, really disappointing to get a two. It was my fault; I’ve accepted it and we’re following the recommendations.
“Labelling was a main issue. One member of staff was not fully trained and touched food without washing her hands. It was easy to correct. Staff are now fully trained and have the hygiene certificate.
“We serve authentic Korean food and we get our sauce from Korea. It’s traditional - one of the dishes is from my mum’s recipe. We have got lots of regular customers happy with the food and prices and good Google reviews.”
