Two Swindon entrepreneurs have helped to raise £30,000 to support people in the community.
Businessmen Carl McCulloch and Jeff Tucker, who run Trak Employment Solutions, raised the funds by pedalling from London to Paris alongside other dedicated business owners.
Their efforts mark their commitment in assisting individuals in the Swindon community who are navigating difficult paths.
The £30,000 will be utilised by Best Mates, a new charity founded by the pair.
The charity, which officially launched in November 2023, operates under the catchphrase 'We Got Ya'. The goal of Best Mates is not ordinary.
It involves pairing individuals undergoing rough times with a 'mate'—a person who has walked similar tough roads and can offer empathetic support and advice.
Mr Tucker reflected on the painful experience where his son was a victim of a violent attack, inspiring the foundation of Best Mates.
He said: "It was an awful time in our lives, not knowing what to do, where to turn, and who to get help from.
"Recovery took longer than it ever should have.
"Had I had someone to lean on, a more positive path would have presented itself sooner for me and my family."
Spurred by this experience, the duo extended their support system beyond individual aid to a level that benefits the entire community.
Mr McCulloch shared more on how the charity services are now part of their business endeavour.
He said: "This initiative allows businesses and their employees throughout the local area to access Best Mates’ support as part of Trak Employment’s comprehensive service offerings.
"We feel that this is a natural integration and demonstrates deep caring and commitment to wellbeing in our sector."
Their dedication can be seen in the mammoth 305-mile bike ride that the 14 business owners took on, taking four days.
Mr Tucker said: "This challenge was significant and on the last day we cycled into Paris the pouring rain.
"However, none of us wavered and we all crossed the line as we strongly believe in the need for Best Mates and the difference it can make for individuals in our community when they are facing challenges in their lives."

The phone line is open for all who may need the support, demonstrating their belief in their motto, 'We Got Ya' even more strongly.
