Wiltshire Search and Rescue has received a financial boost from Swindon’s Bus Company as part of the company's community fund scheme.

The general manager of Swindon’s Bus Company, Andrew Sherrington, said: "Wiltshire Search and Rescue volunteers make themselves available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year - supporting Wiltshire Police and other agencies in searches for high risk, vulnerable, missing persons across the county."

He further revealed that the company is delighted at contributing £500 from their community fund, which opens for applications twice a year and supports a vital local resource.

Bethan Matthews, a trustee for Wiltshire Search and Rescue, shared that the organisation is fully voluntary, often deployed by emergency services to aid in locating high-risk individuals.

Ms Matthews said: "Wiltshire Search and Rescue is a voluntary organisation, deployed at the request of the emergency services control room.

"Our primary aim is to locate high-risk, vulnerable, individuals and return them to a place of safety."

She further expressed her gratitude towards Swindon’s Bus Company for its generosity, stating that this donation will be put to a very good use.
