Over 500 homes are without electricity due to a power cut near Swindon.
The unplanned outage is affecting a “large area” around Uffington and was first reported just after 11am.
The power cut is affecting 567 homes south of Faringdon in the OX11 and OX12 postcodes.
Scottish & Southern Electrcity Networks (SSEN) is hoping to restore power by 11pm, 12 hours after the outage was first reported.
The SSEN outage tracker states: “We're aware of a power cut in the area shown, affecting 567 homes.
“This unplanned fault is affecting a large area, and its likely several streets in your area are affected by the same power cut.
“Our engineers are in your local area and working hard to get your power restored as soon as possible.
“At this stage, based on initial investigations, we're aiming to restore your power by 23:00 23/07/2024.”
This follows another outage in Marlborough earlier in the day, when just under 1,000 homes were powerless after a power cable is believed to have been severed.
High Street businesses’ power was affected. A Gigaclear spokesperson an investigation into the cause is underway.
