The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates' Court this month.
PURTON: Bleue Griffin, of Hoggs Lane, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta along Hook Street on June 8, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in the driver’s breath – namely 43 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - exceeded the prescribed limit.
The defendant has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services.
MOTORWAY: Ampital Singh, of High Street in Slough, has been sentenced for a driving-related offence.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to give his name and address to someone when required after failing to stop when his Volkswagen Golf was involved in a road traffic accident on the M4 services at Leigh Delamere near Chippenham on January 27, 2024.
He received five penalty points on his driving and licence and must pay a fine of £292 as well as £85 in court costs plus £117 to fund victim services.
PENHILL: Charlie Mathis-Jones, of Shrewton Walk, has been sentenced for two driving offences.
The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Dacia Sandero along Shrewton Walk on July 6, 2024, without a valid driving licence or insurance policy in place.
He received eight penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a fine of £120 along with £85 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services.
PENHILL: Matthew Hudson, of Corsham Road, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to driving an MG along Drove Road on July 8. 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 52 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
He has been banned from driving, fined £120, and ordered to pay £48 to fund victim services.
FRESHBROOK: Ben James, of Lambert Close, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a silver Renault along Queen Elizabeth Drive on July 7, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
He has been banned from driving for 18 months, fined £230, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £92 to fund victim services.
LAWN: Zak Hanman, of Windsor Road, has been sentenced for possessing Class B drugs.
The 19-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to having cannabis in Swindon on July 8, 2024.
He has been fined £133 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £53 to fund victim services.
The illegal substance has been forfeited and destroyed.
EVEN SWINDON: Eugen-Petrisor Petre, of Padstow Road, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to driving an Audi A4 along Graham Street and Manchester Road on July 8, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
The defendant has been banned from driving for 19 months, fined £150, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £60 to fund victim services.
CALNE: Kevin Doman, of Swaddon Street, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 42-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Kuga along the B4042 on July 7, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
He has been banned from driving for 18 months, fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services.
