A sheep has been killed in Shrivenham after it was disembowelled.

The incident happened on Wednesday, July 24, between noon and 1pm.

People working in a field by the canal went on a lunch break at around noon.

On their return the sheep had been disembowelled, police have said.

Thames Valley Police believe this was done using tools belonging to the workers left at the scene.

The force put out a public appeal for more information via their social media channels on Thursday evening.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “The Rural Crime Taskforce is investigating a report of a sheep being killed in Shrivenham.

“If you have any information regarding this offence please call 101 quoting the reference 43240355278.

“Alternatively you can provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers.”
