Wiltshire Police have been sharing recent success stories from their dog teams on social media after offenders have tried to evade arrest.
In one post, they said police dog Frankie chased and caught an offender who fled from arrest after what officers described as a “high risk domestic" last week.
The man tried to hide from Frankie and made repeated attempts to run, but she was faster, successfully caught up with him and he was apprehended by officers.
On Thursday, July 25, Frankie helped them to find an offender responsible for a “large scale theft in Swindon.”
Four offenders ran from the scene and two were detained by other units, but Frankie tracked one of them down and the man “chanced his arm going to ground in a hedge.”
And she is not the only dog on the team catching criminals, as her teammate Reggie, a black and white spaniel, helped officers to arrest an individual at a warrant last week.
Not forgetting PD Frankies team mate PD Reggie who had a positive find at a warrant last week , well done team 👏🏻 pic.twitter.com/7ax2xFe3Bo
