A site close to the White Hart Roundabout could be a new shopping area for Swindon after it was bought for development.
The RO Group says a 9.7-acre site could be used for roadside retail, industrial, logistics and storage with jobs promised.
It sits opposite Gablecross police station and next door to the Sainsbury's on the A420 Oxford Road - not far from the Amazon warehouse at Symmetry Park.
The blueprint for the development is the group’s Solstice Park development in Amesbury which features McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Asda and a Holiday Inn.
The group hopes to replicate what it calls a “hugely successful development”.
Home Farm east of Swindon sees around 22,500 cars passing on the road between Oxford. The group says this makes it the “ideal” location for a strategic mixed-use scheme.
A spokesperson added: “[It] will generate job opportunities for Swindon and cement its status as an important regional centre for commerce.”

The land bought by the developer includes a farmhouse which has stood abandoned by the busy road for many years.
Home Farm forms part of the New Eastern Villages development with around 8,000 new homes, schools and community facilities, set to be one of the largest greenfield developments in the UK.
The developer says the site has become popular as it becomes more accessible for commuters between London and Bristol.
The RO Group is also responsible for the RO24 industrial scheme at South Marston Park.
