Thunderstorms could hit Swindon and Wiltshire sooner than previously expected as a weather warning is updated.
Previously, the yellow warning was in place from 12pm Thursday, but has now been brought forward to 12pm tomorrow, July 31 by the Met Office.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Some isolated flooding and disruption from thunderstorms possible on Wednesday.
"Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
“Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
"There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
"There is a small chance of fast-flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life."
Wednesday’s warning covers much of south-east England and parts of the south-west. Thursday’s covers much of England and parts of east Wales.
Temperatures are expected to hit 28 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, July 31 and continue in the twenties for the following week, with rain.
