A Swindon woman in her 40s has been confirmed as the victim of a fatal motorbike crash near Cirencester.
Police officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary were called to a single-vehicle collision on the B4425 in Barnsley, near Cirencester, just before 8pm on Tuesday, July 30.
The rider of the motorcycle, a woman in her 40s from Swindon, had collided with a tree and sustained serious injuries.
Despite paramedics' best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers," said a spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary.
"Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police or who has dashcam footage they feel may be relevant."
A road closure will remain in place between the B4425 Welsh Way and from the junction with the A417 while collision investigation work takes place on July 31.
This is likely to affect motorists travelling to and from Cirencester and Burford.
