Thunderstorms are expected across Wiltshire today following the heatwave.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning advising people to expect heavy rain showers and thunderstorms, which may lead to some disruption.
A spokesperson said: “Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
“Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
“Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.”
It is still expected to be humid throughout the day and there are likely to be sunny intervals, with highs of 28 degrees Celsius.
The showers are expected to ease later this evening, remaining dry overnight with a few mist and fog patches, but it will be another warm and muggy night, with a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius.
The warning is only in place for Thursday and there are no weather warnings issued for the rest of the week, but the hot weather is set to continue, with highs of 25 degrees Celsius on Friday, August 2 and highs of 22 degrees Celsius during the weekend.
