A business in Swindon town centre is relocating after three years, but the manager says he is excited about the move and hopes to bring in more customers.

Car Mobile House, which is currently located in The Brunel shopping centre, will soon be opening on Canal Walk next to Greggs, after the lease expired and manager Malik Waseem was unable to extend it.

Builders are working to get the store up and running, which has been empty since The Fragrance Shop moved into The Brunel shopping centre in May 2023, and they were still working into the evening on Wednesday, July 31.

Malik said: “I’m excited about moving because on the side we’re moving to, there are more phone shops, so I hope we will do better. Once people buy a phone they need accessories like chargers and screen protectors which we sell.

“We’ve got some very good permanent customers and we want to let them know where we are moving to. The new spot is a new start for us.

“I hope we will open within two weeks. I guess a new business will be moving to our previous shop, but I don’t know what will open there.”
