Swindon's top-rated Indian restaurant Ruchi listed for sale

Ruchi, based on Victoria Road in Old Town, has been a family-run business for over 33 years and is rated the number one best restaurant in Swindon, according to TripAdvisor reviews.

The restaurant, which was awarded a four out of five food hygiene rating last September, has been listed on businessesforsale with an asking price of £169,000.

It is still currently open to customers. 

The listing states: “Established business since the 1990s. A family-run Indian restaurant for over 33 years and still trading at this present time.

“We are starting a new chapter in our lives. Hence why this is on the market. We have spent thousands of pounds renovating it. So it's ready for a new ownership.

“We are highly recommended as Number 1 on TripAdvisor out of all type of cuisines. 80% are regular customers with excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and Google.

“We have all sorts of customers that dine in, families and large groups, tourists, company bookings.

A review posted on TripAdvisor on August 2 read: “Our restaurant of choice for Indian food in Swindon area. Always friendly, excellent service, food and value for money.”

Another customer said: “Great evening celebrating my son 21st birthday with family. Great service and friendly staff. Quick service and happy.”

Additionally, the listing states the venue can seat more than 100 people, which includes a VIP room that seats around 40 guests with a small bar and outside smoking area and there is staff accommodation situated upstairs with two bedrooms.

The establishment has recently undergone a renovation, which includes a new shop front, a new main bar with a cellar room, brand new ceilings with Rolls Royce spotted lights, surround speakers, new gas cookers and updated customer bathrooms.

Ruchi was contacted for comment and a spokesperson said they were selling for “personal family reasons” but did not wish to elaborate.
