A local biking group has rallied around the family of a fatal crash victim and is planning a ride out in her honour.

A woman in her 40s from Swindon was killed following a single-vehicle collision near Cirencester on July 30.

That woman has now been identified as Alison Perks, a member of the Swindon Bikers Group.

A fundraising page has also been set up for her family, including partner Doug and daughter Jamie-Leigh.

So far £1,820 of the £2,500 target has been raised by the JustGiving page, with several people also paying tribute to the mother.

One person said: "Ali was a lovely person, always smiling and happy to interact with everyone.

"What has happened is extremely sad and a big loss not just for the family but also for the Biking community in Swindon."

A second added: "Ali was one of the gang, a funny lady and her cheeky sense of humour will be hugely missed, love and condolences to Doug and the family. Keep riding up there mate."

A bike ride is to take place at 7pm on Tuesday, August 6 with the biking community set to gather at Greenbridge Retail Park, before riding to The Nigel Eady County Ground in Alison's honour.

Marc Adair, who organised the GoFundMe, has also organised the meet. He said: "We sadly lost a very close friend this week.

"Alison Perks was a member of Swindon Bikers. Tragically taken too soon.

"Ride free. Heaven gained another angel.

"Thoughts are with Doug, Jamie-Leigh and the rest of the family at this difficult time."

He has warned members of the public on social media about the large biker presence expected at the meet.

"Please give us a wave and give us space to arrive as a group as best as possible," he said.

Others have paid tribute to Alison, including the Wiltshire and Dorset Bikers Group, who said "It’s with huge sadness that one of our members from Wiltshire and Dorset bikers Alison Perks was sadly taken so soon from us.

"Beloved and devoted partner to Doug. Mother to Jamie-Leigh. She has left a huge hole in the family and also the biking community."

A police investigation into the circumstances of Alison's crash is currently underway.
