Essential resurfacing work is taking place at nine locations across Swindon over the summer holidays.
The council says this time has been chosen to minimise disruption to local residents and road users.
Work began at the end of last month, and will run throughout August.
The improvement work forms part of the Council’s annual major and minor road resurfacing programme, which will see just over £4m invested to fix deteriorating road surfaces across the Borough.
The following locations have already been resurfaced and completed under road closures: Hook Street, Inverary Road and Ferndale Road.
Next week our contractor will commence works at Gooch Street which have started and last until August 7.
Then Huntley Close, Markham Close and Dawlish Road will all be completed. One day road closures have been planned to carry these out.
In order to complete the resurfacing as quickly as possible, the roads will be closed between 8am and 6pm each day.
Access will be maintained for local residents and diversions will be in place for other motorists. Letters are also being sent to local residents informing them about the work.
After this Shakespeare Path in Stratton and Boscombe Road in Moredon will be done in the week commencing August 12
Residents and motorists are advised to check the Council’s website for full details and up-to-date information.
This comes as the local authority acknowledges the scale of the issue in the town, stating that there are several roads that need sorting.

Councillor Chris Watts, Swindon Borough Council’s cabinet member for the environment and transport, said: “We have a long list of roads which are in need of repair across Swindon and these ones are on our priority list and have been identified by our inspectors as being in really poor condition.
“A lack of investment over the years means there are many more roads that require our attention, but we only have so much capital funding to carry out this work and we have to manage this carefully to keep the Borough’s roads safe and in as good a condition as we can for local residents.
“We have planned this work to coincide with the summer holidays to minimise inconvenience, but we would just ask those directly affected to bear with us while we carry out these essential repairs over the coming weeks.”
