The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this month.
PINEHURST: Jack Freeman, of Poplar Avenue, has been sentenced for drug driving.
The 19-year-old pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of driving a Volkswagen Polo along Regent Circus on October 28, 2023, while having 340 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine per litre of blood in his system.
He has been banned from driving for 17 months and ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months as well as pay £620 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.
His driving disqualification has been suspended pending an appeal.
GRANGE PARK: Stephen Rushton, of Gerard Walk, has been sentenced for entering premises in contravention of a closure order.
The 43-year-old pleaded guilty to entering an address on Shire Court in Kingshill on July 17, 2024, after a closure order had been issued by Swindon Magistrates Court on May 16, 2024.
He must pay a fine of £40 and £85 in court costs.
STRATTON ST MARGARET: Colin Middleton, of West End Road, has been sentenced for two offences.
The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to beating a boy in Swindon on December 26, 2023, and causing the same victim actual bodily harm two days earlier.
He received a six-month prison sentence which has been suspended for 12 months due to the serious nature of the offences, in that the defendant grabbed the young victim's throat.
A community order requires Middleton to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and up to 20 rehabilitation activity days in the next 12 months, as well as pay £85 in court costs plus £154 to fund victim services.
MELKSHAM: Sophie Wells, of Rabley Wood View in Marlborough, has been sentenced for an offence.
It was proven in the 22-year-old's absence that she did not meet the insurance requirements for a vehicle registered under the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 in Melksham on August 24, 2023.
She must pay a fine of £220 as well as £200 in court costs and £88 to fund victim services.
MARLBOROUGH: William Pettis, of Francomes Field in Lambourn, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle along Chopping Knife Lane in Marlborough on July 14, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 56 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £180, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £72 to fund victim services.
TROWBRIDGE: Joshua Daffurn, of Towpath Road, has been sentenced for assault by beating.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting a woman in Trowbridge on January 28, 2024.
He received a community order that comes with a 16-week electronically monitored curfew and orders him to carry out up to 15 rehabilitation activity days, and must also pay "85 in court costs.
MALMESBURY: Jonathan Skillern, of Snell Avenue, has been sentenced for sending a communication threatening death or serious harm.
The 41-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to sending a message which conveyed a threat of serious physical injury between May 10 and 13, 2024.
He received a community order that required him to carry out 12 sessions of mental health treatment and up to 15 rehabilitation activity days, as well as pay a fine of £120 and £85 in court costs plus £14 to fund victim services.
A new restraining order prevents the defendant from having any contact with his male victim until next August.
