Police have confirmed that a man has died following a medical incident in Swindon Old Town.
Wiltshire Police responded to reports of a medical incident in Prospect Place, Swindon, just after 6pm yesterday, August 8.
Prospect Place was closed by a cordon with a large emergency response by police, ambulance and the air ambulance’s ground unit.
Sadly, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson has confirmed that a man in his 50s died at the scene.
They added: “His next of kin have been informed. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
A South Western Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 17:50hrs on Thursday 8 August to an incident in Swindon.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer, and a critical care car to the scene.”
Emergency services began to leave the scene shortly before 8.30pm with the cordon removed, reopening Prospect Place to the public.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was also contacted for comment.
