A town centre Greggs has closed after its glass door was smashed, leaving glass on the floor.
Sources, including a nearby shop employee, suggest the store’s charity box was stolen after a brick was thrown through the window.
This has not been confirmed by Greggs or Wiltshire Police who were contacted for comment.
Small shards of glass were visible on the shop floor after a clean-up had been attempted with a vacuum and brush.
The window was boarded up, and a notice in the window informed customers of a temporary closure.
It reads: “We’re sorry. We’ve had to temporarily close this shop, we’ll be back soon.”
The nearby Canal Walk shop is open, with an employee from the damaged Havelock Street branch having been re-stationed there.
The damage comes after rioters damaged some Greggs stores and other shops around the country.
A video posted on X shows men throwing heavy objects at a Greggs in Hull earlier in the week before one of them walks off with a tray of baked goods.
The BBC reported that one youth stole food from Greggs before heading down to Lush to steal bath products, later appearing in court.
He is due to be sentenced on 2 September after he admitted violent disorder and two counts of burglary.
