A man from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after officers pulled him over for driving with an expired MOT.
Roads policing officers were in Royal Wootton Bassett on Wednesday morning when they saw a Ford Transit being driven with what they believed to be an expired MOT.
But after stopping the vehicle, they detected the smell of cannabis and a roadside drugs wipe was carried out.
The driver, in his 20s, tested positive for cannabis and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and taken to Melksham custody.
He has been released under investigation while officers continue their enquiries.
Last week Wiltshire Police launched their summer road safety campaign to remind motorists that there is no excuse for committing the fatal five offences most likely to cause a serious collision - careless driving, drug driving, drink driving, excess speed, no seatbelt and using a mobile phone at the wheel.
