A driver who was caught allegedly speeding while overtaking a roads policing unit has been reported.
Wiltshire Specialist Ops posted the incident on social media, saying the roads policing unit had witnessed a Mercedes driver overtaking them in a 50mph speed limit zone, while reaching speeds of up to 70mph.
The post read: “Reason for the speed was being late to get his partner to work. The partner was even later getting to work and the driver reported.”
Roads policing teams are working to raise awareness of the fatal five campaign launched by Wiltshire Police last week, highlighting the five offences which are most likely to cause serious collisions on our roads.
These offences include careless driving, drug driving, drink driving, excess speed, no seatbelt and using a phone while driving.
