Two men have been arrested at this year’s Swindon and Wiltshire Pride event.
The incident happened at the celebration of LGBTQ+ communities on Saturday, August 10 and one of the men has since been charged.
A procession was followed by an event in GWR Park.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We have arrested two people following separate incidents at Swindon Pride yesterday.
“Paul McDonald, 57, of Emlyn Square, Swindon, was arrested and charged with being drunk and disorderly and assaulting an emergency worker.
“A second man, aged in his 30s, was arrested after failing to comply with a section 35 dispersal order.”
McDonald has been bailed and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 27.
The other man has been released under investigation.
Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 gives police the power to exclude a person from an area for a period of up to 48 hours.
The arrests come after some homophobic comments were allegedly heard during the march.
It is not clear whether the arrests and alleged comments are linked.
