A fire station in Wiltshire is preparing to open up its doors and welcome visitors for a day of fun, games, demonstrations and more.
The open day, which will take place on Sunday, August 18, will see firefighters at Royal Wootton Bassett Fire Station on Station Road give various live demonstrations, tours around the fire station, and a behind-the-scenes look at how appliances such as the fire engine and water carrier work.
The event, which will run from 10am to 2pm on Sunday, will also offer activities for children, a colouring competition and a chance to chat with the crew helping save lives in the area.
“We want this to be a great day for the whole family, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our local community and hopefully meeting some potential new recruits," said watch manager Tom McInerney.
"We would remind people that there’s no parking at the fire station, but we’re just a short walk from the town centre."
The event comes just two months after a successful open day at Swindon Fire Station, which saw hundreds attend.
Those hoping to attend the Royal Wootton Bassett open day should use town centre parking such as Boroughfields Car Park.
