Flowers have been left at a Swindon park where a woman was found dead.
Police were called to Swindon's GWR Park on Faringdon Road on August 4 and later confirmed that an investigation had been launched after the body of a young woman had been found.
Friends and family of the woman, who has not yet been officially identified, have paid tribute to her by leaving flowers in the area, as well as a balloon, all resting against a tree.
Many of the flowers have messages of love on them, with one of them saying "Rest in heavenly peace."
Tributes were also paid online in comments responding to reporting of the police activity on the day she was found.
One person wrote: "Rest in peace my beautiful queen. I can’t get my head around it still now you have your real wings as you was already an angel. I’ll love you forever I promise and I’ll be with you soon till then fly high bubs."
Another added: "She was a beautiful young woman and she will be missed by so many people, she was very loved."
The park was cordoned off to members of the public throughout most of the day, with officers guarding each entrance to the outdoor space.
Several police vehicles were parked at the scene, including a van, and two crime scene investigation vans arrived in the afternoon and parked next to two police cars on Faringdon Road.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said at the time an investigation had been launched.
“We responded to reports that a woman's body had been discovered in GWR Park, Swindon just after 11am on Sunday morning," they said.
“Sadly, a woman in her 20s was declared deceased and her next of kin have been informed. Our thoughts are her family at this difficult time.
“The park was closed for a number of hours while officers carried out an investigation of what happened but has now reopened.
“Although we are in the early stages of this investigation, we do not believe there to be a wider risk to the public.”
Wiltshire Police have been contacted for further comment.
