The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court this month.

STRATTON: Kyle Hillsdon, of Ruskin Avenue, has been sentenced for assault by beating.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting a woman in Swindon on June 3, 2023.

He received a community order that requires him to carry out up to 20 rehabilitation activity days and pay £100 in compensation along with £85 in court costs.

WESTCOTT: Kias Bonner-Shea, of Manor Road, has been sentenced for drink driving.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to driving an Audi A4 along Dean Street on April 14, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in the driver’s breath, namely 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

The defendant has been banned from driving for 23 months, fined £832, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and £333 to fund victim services.

THE PARKS: Sean Little, of Shaftesbury Avenue, has been sentenced for assault by beating of five emergency workers and possession of Class A drugs.

The 34-year-old pleaded not guilty to the assaults but indicated a plea of guilty to having heroin on him while in Swindon on May 5, 2024.

He was found guilty of hitting four male police officers and one female police officer in Swindon on May 4, 2024.

The defendant received 16-week prison sentence which has been suspended for 12 months because the offences - repeated assaults on a number of individuals involving biting and spitting - are so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified.

The heroin has been forfeited and destroyed. Little must pay £500 in court costs and £154 to fund victim services.

CRICKLADE: Julia Wilson, of Hammonds Lane in Ropley, Alresford, has been sentenced for being in charge of a motor vehicle while drunk.

The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to being in charge of a Mercedes C250 on Malmesbury Road on May 18, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in her breath, namely 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

She received a £80 fine and 10 penalty points on her driving licence, and must also pay £85 in court costs and £32 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Piyush Limbu, of RAF Leeming in Northallerton, has been sentenced for failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

The 30-year-old changed their plea to guilty regarding a charge of failing without reasonable excuse to provide a breath sample when required to police in Swindon on May 25, 2024, in the course of an investigation into whether they had committed an offence.

The defendant received a 12-month driving ban and must pay a fine of £380 as well as £100 in court costs and £152 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Mark Stiggers, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced for shoplifting.

The 34-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to taking alcohol worth £5.30 from Morrisons on Marlowe Avenue on May 26, 2024, stealing meat worth £182.85 from the Groundwell Road Co-op on May 23 and shoplifting £30 of meat and alcohol from the same supermarket on August 4.

He received a 12-week prison sentence which has been suspended for 18 months, and must pay £100 in compensation.

CHIPPENHAM: Michael Ayres, of Wicks Drive, has been sentenced for drink driving.

The 76-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Honda Civic along Pewsham Way on July 4, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 51 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He received a 12-month driving ban and must pay a fine of £80 as well as £85 in court costs and £32 to fund victim services.
