A HGV driver who already had points on his licence for speeding offences was spotted by police using his phone on the motorway.
While travelling along the M4, the driver appeared to be distracted by his phone and officers pulled him over when they realised he was busy texting instead of focusing on the road.
Wilts Specialist Ops shared the incident on social media, saying: “Driver on three points for speeding, impending three points for another recent speeding offence and now with six more looming he’s off to court.”
The penalty for holding and using a phone while driving is six penalty points and a £200 fine and at court the driver could be banned from driving or face a maximum fine of £1,000.
