Swindon Town and the Official Supporters' Club have chosen Phoenix Enterprise as its official dedicated charity for the current season.
Phoenix, which helps to provide work, purpose and fresh starts for over 120 local people facing health issues and learning disabilities, was the chosen charity.
The football club said the charity's values of fostering growth and independence and empowering individuals to develop essential employability skills aligned with theirs.
Following the partnership announcement, Swindon Town CEO Anthony Hall said: “We are thrilled to partner with Phoenix Enterprises. Their dedication to helping individuals overcome challenges resonates with our club’s ethos. Together, we can make a lasting impact.”
Phoenix Enterprise Trustee and former Town player Nathan Thompson added: “As a trustee of Phoenix Enterprises and a former player of Swindon Town Football Club, it is truly heartwarming to witness this collaboration between the club, the Official Supporters Club, and our charity.
"Phoenix provides incredible support for individuals with learning difficulties and mental health challenges, guiding them towards employment and greater independence.
"By combining the efforts of the charity with the reach and influence of STFC, we can significantly enhance the support and awareness for these vital services, making a profound difference in the lives of many within our community."
Phoenix Enterprises CEO, Clare McDougall added “We are super excited about this collaboration!
"Swindon Town Football Club’s support will enable us to reach even more people and transform lives.”
Phoenix Enterprises would love to have more volunteers from across Swindon which can be a one-off day or an ongoing commitment.
The opportunities with Phoenix Enterprise can also match to suit volunteers' interests, from hand-assembly work to helping someone with a learning disability complete their work, to working with them on their numeracy skills, there's plenty of options to get involved available.
