Two football fans from Swindon have completed their gruelling challenge to walk from the County Ground in Swindon to their club's opening away fixture 147 miles away.
Setting off from the home of Swindon Town Football Club on August 2, Innes Miles and Jordan Brooks arrived at Chesterfield's SMH Group Stadium in time to take their seats for the 8pm kick-off and eventual 1-1 draw.
The pair took on the challenge to raise money for Alzheimer's Society and the National Autistic Society - both causes close to their hearts - and have at the time of writing smashed their target of £5,000, raising just under £6,400.
The pair are now recovering, but have told the BBC in an interview they were blown away by the support they received.
Jordan said: "The support we got from people was just absolutely incredible, that was certainly something that will forever stand out, and without sounding too soppy, doing it with my best mate."
The pair joked about not falling out, with Innes joking that the key to the endeavour's successes was "walking about 20m behind [Jordan] the whole walk."
Innes added that he is now on crutches after walking about 20 miles a day.
He added: "Maybe train a bit more, maybe scope it out a little bit better than we did, we kind of did it on a bit of a wing and it all worked."
The firm friends initially did not know where they would be going when they set themselves the challenge and eagerly awaited the release of Swindon Town's fixtures to find out.
Innes said in the GoFundMe: "Jordan and I discussed challenging ourselves one night (after a few drinks...)
"After a while, Jordan came up with the idea to walk from Swindon Town to our first away fixture of the season!
"We both agreed and eagerly awaited the fixtures coming out - so we are walking 140 miles to Chesterfield FC."
They departed from the County Ground with a guard of honour sending them off on August 2, with the club wishing them luck on their trip.
A spokesperson for Swindon Town Football Club said: "Innes and Jordan contacted the club by email and as a club, we wanted to support their fundraiser and particularly the work both the Alzheimers and National Autistic Society does across the UK."
