Residents living near Swindon town centre have been warned to expect delays due to roadworks, especially at peak commuting times.
Half of the road on Westcott Place has been cordoned off by cones and barriers while roadworks are underway and there is single file traffic controlled by traffic lights, while the normal traffic lights and crossing are still in use.
Westcott Place is right next to Kingsdown Road - one of Swindon’s busiest and most polluted roads – and the motorists are warned that delays are very likely in the area.
The Swindon Borough Council website states the roadworks started on Wednesday, August 7 and will finish on Thursday, August 22.
CityFibre are overseeing resurfacing works as the stretch of road has become very uneven, where it appears potholes have been filled in on some areas of the road but not all.
Neil Madle, CityFibre’s partnership manager for Wiltshire, said: "One of our build partners is currently carrying out some essential resurfacing works on behalf of CityFibre at Westcott place, which are due to conclude in the next week.
“We would like to thank residents for their patience and reassure them that we always aim to complete works to the highest standards."
