The busy A420 route from Swindon to Oxford is going to be hit with disruption caused by roadworks soon.
The stretch of the busy route at the junction just outside Gablecross Police Station on Shrivenham Road is going to be repaired by Swindon Borough Council.
The local authority will resurface the area as well as correct a defect in the carriageway itself.
Councillor for the area, Tom Butcher, warned people on social media that disruption from this will likely start on Wednesday, August 28 and last until Friday, August 30.
He added: "There will be a lane closure on the A420 between Gablecross and White Hart roundabouts during the day so that the central reservation can be planted with ground-covering plants to reduce the need for maintenance of the verge.
"This will take place during off-peak hours 9:30am to 3.30pm."
Overnight resurfacing will be taking place on Thursday and Friday nights during that period.
Cllr Tom said: "The overnight works will require a lane closure on the A420 from the Symmetry Park Junction over Gablecross roundabout stopping after the bus stop outside Sainsburys.
"During the overnight works the traffic management will be manually controlled and a convoy system will be in place to guide traffic through the works site. The junction to the Police Station will be manned so that priority is given to emergency vehicles."
