Progressive rock band Big Big Train are set to perform in Swindon to begin their European tour.

The seven-piece group have 12 shows coming up in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and Norway in September and October.

They will begin their tour at Swindon's Wyvern Theatre on September 17 before six more UK shows.

The tour is to promote the band's new album, 'The Likes Of Us', which was released in March.

Lead vocalist, Alberto Bravin, said: "We’re really looking forward to getting back on the road this autumn around the UK and Europe.

"On this tour in autumn we will be playing a significant amount of The Likes Of Us as well as some Big Big Train classics and a few surprises.”

Drummer, Nick D'Virgilio, added: "Last year’s Big Big Train shows were so much fun.

"We made some changes to the set list every night. It was very challenging but it kept things fresh for both us and the audience, so we’re going to take a similar approach on this tour to make every show is genuinely unique.”

The band's bassist, Gregory Spawton, said the band was looking forward to playing at "some of our favourite venues".
