The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates' Court this month.

SWINDON: Paul Adams, of Tetbury Road in Sherston, has been sentenced for drink driving.

The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Volvo along Thamesdown Drive on April 15, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He received a 19-month driving ban and a £120 fine, and must also pay court costs of £650 and £48 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Augusto Ijanc, of Gipsy Lane, has been sentenced for a driving offence.

The 44-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to using a fake Italian driving licence with intent to deceive on Pipers Way on November 21, 2023.

He must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months as well as pay £400 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.

The fake licence has been forfeited and destroyed.

HAYDON WICK: Daniel Palfreeman, of Joyce Close, has been sentenced for an offence.

The 20-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to using or threatening unlawful violence towards other persons and his conduct was such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety, in Swindon on March 5, 2023.

He must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.

HIGHWORTH: Vance Fairbanks, of Edencroft, has been sentenced for a driving offence.

The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to attempting to drive a moped on Swindon Road in Highworth on July 26, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 106  microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He received a 24-month driving ban and must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months, as well as pay £85 in court costs and £114 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: Liam Smith, of Unity Street, has been sentenced for possessing a knife in a public place.

The 18-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to having a black-handled serrated kitchen knife near his home address on March 6, 2024.

He received a community order that requires him to carry out six months of non-residential alcohol treatment and 12 months of mental health treatment, and must pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.

The knife has been forfeited and destroyed.
