A 'drunk driver' who allegedly stole a van full of fish has been caught by Wiltshire Police.
Officers from Wiltshire Police's Road Policing Unit had been out patrolling the roads in and around Swindon on Saturday, August 17, when they were alerted to a white van that had been allegedly stolen.
But while this is not the first stolen van that officers have chased down, it might be one of the first ones to be full of stolen fish.
According to the unit, the white van was followed for 23 minutes before being successfully pulled over, and the driver is said to have failed a roadside breath test.
"The Road Policing Unit responded to a stolen van full of fish," said a spokesperson for the road unit.
"We followed our noses and with the nets set it was a catch and no release for this driver."
The driver of the stolen van has now been taken into police custody.
