A man has been denied bail over his alleged involvement in a robbery at a newsagents in Swindon.
Jason Smith, 39, of Thornford Drive, appeared before Swindon Magistrates' Court from custody via video link on August 20.
The prosecution presented evidence suggesting Smith had been involved in a robbery at Delta News in Westlea on July 28, where two men dressed in balaclavas stole £500. It is alleged Smith threatened the shopkeeper with a syringe.
Smith has denied involvement and he will be remanded in custody until his hearing at Swindon Crown Court on September 6.
