Customers expecting a pizza delivery were left hungry after discovering the takeaway they had ordered from had unexpectedly closed.
Papa Johns in Royal Wootton Bassett shut its doors on Friday evening but people were still able to order online via food delivery websites over the weekend.
They were left waiting for food that was never going to arrive - with one person posting a warning on social media the following day to let people know.
The post, which was made on Saturday, August 17, said: "Do not order food from Papa Johns in Royal Wootton Bassett - it closed down yesterday.
"But orders are still being taken via Just Eat."
Another person added: "We found that out tonight as well."
The branch itself on Gainsborough Avenue shows no obvious signs of having permanently closed and there are no signs on the front door or windows. A red Papa Johns t-shirt has been posted through the letter box and could be seen on the floor when the Adver visited.
The firm's website still lists the Royal Wootton Bassett site, only stating that it is "not currently accepting online orders" - and a spokesperson for Papa Johns has confirmed that it has closed without ruling out the possibility of it reopening in the future.
A spokesperson from Papa Johns said: “We can confirm that the Papa Johns store in Royal Wootton Bassett has permanently closed."
The spokesperson confirmed that those who had paid for an order that they did not receive will be refunded.
"While the store has been closed, some customers were still able to place orders through food delivery platforms – these customers will all be issued with a refund," they said.
There are two remaining Papa Johns Pizza stores in Swindon or the surrounding area.
The first can be found on Victoria Road and the second on Moredon Road.
The Papa Johns spokesperson indicated there is a chance that the Bassett store could return.
They added: "We’re grateful to all of our loyal customers in Royal Wootton Bassett and are currently exploring possibilities around new ownership."
