An uninsured Swindon motorist was left to rue a trip to McDonald's after he was pulled over by police.
The BMW driver 'popped out' to get themselves some fast food but quickly found themselves being pulled over in Swindon town centre, in the street opposite the Khyber Indian in Regent Circus.
They were then left without a car after officers from Wiltshire Police's Roads Policing Unit found out they did not have insurance.
The incident was posted on the Wiltshire Specialist Operations Twitter/X page, where the officers involved jumped at the opportunity to make some takeaway-related puns in a tongue-in-cheek way.
The post said: "The driver popped out to order his McDonald's, unfortunately, he forgot to order his insurance policy, oops!
"Luckily #ARV had sharpened their crayon, completed the TOR and ordered some recovery!
"The only takeaway this driver is getting is a handful of paperwork."
To cap the post off, the RPU spokesperson added the hashtag '#McSeized'.
Members of the public reacting to the post also joined in with the puns.
One person wrote: "He got McBusted," and another added: "Lovin' it..."
