An Audi has been seized after the driver was allegedly spotted “cruising the M4 at 108mph”.
Police say they caught the driver of the black car speeding down the motorway in Wiltshire, nearly 40mph over the national speed limit.
Officers sprung into action to pull the vehicle over and subsequently discovered that the driver was believed to be using the car without insurance.
They have since been issued with papers and the Audi was seized by officers.
A spokesperson for the force said: “If you’re driving uninsured, probably not a great idea to draw attention to yourself by cruising the M4 at 108mph. Seized and papers issued.”
Excess speed is one of the “fatal five” motoring offences that Wiltshire Police is trying to crack down on, both on the motorway and around the county.
This offence, along with careless or dangerous driving, drink or drug driving, driving without a seatbelt, and driving while using a phone, increases the risk of crashes.
