A drama group for young people who have additional needs or are facing life challenges has been launched.
Reach Inclusive Arts (RIA), based in Swindon, has launched Neon Lights, a group for 16 to 25-year-olds, with funding from Blagrave Trust.
The group, starting this September, will aim to help participants meet new people, develop their drama skills and express creativity, with no experience needed.
The group will be guided by professional theatre practitioners and staff experienced in supporting young people with additional needs.
Sue Welsh, arts project coordinator at RIA, said: "Our aim is to help participants to reach their potential.
"I passionately believe that drama is a powerful medium through which to develop social and life skills while supporting mental health and well-being."
After joining RIA as work experience students, Morgan Bowditch and Summer Ward have been instrumental in the development of Neon Lights.
They will also be supporting and mentoring participants during drama sessions.
RIA young ambassador, Summer Ward, said: "Setting up Neon Lights has been important to me because it has helped me to grow.
"Having anxiety in this day and age can be a struggle for most young people. This group has not only helped me but I know it will help you too."
