A man has been left fighting for his life after a serious attack at a major motocross event in Swindon.
At around 9.15pm on Thursday (August 22), police received a call from the ambulance service at the Foxhill in Upper Wanborough reporting that a man in his 30s had been assaulted.
He sustained significant injuries and was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
The suspect, a man in his 30s who is known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and has been taken into custody for questioning.
There is still a police cordon at the scene while enquiries are carried out. The venue is hosting the Vets Motocross des Nations event across four days, due to finish on Sunday.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Anyone who witnessed the incident who we haven’t already spoken to is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 322 of August 22.”
