Swindon residents have been warned to expect “delays” to their bin collections during the week of the August Bank Holiday.
Swindon Borough Council has confirmed that there will be reduced collections of waste and recycling on Monday, August 26, as a result of the Bank Holiday.
Because of this, there will be some delayed collections across the town.
Locals have been advised to leave out any bins that are due for collection until they are picked up by crews.
This is likely to take place by the end of the week for households that are missed on their collection date.
A spokesperson for the council said: “A reduced number of crews will be out collecting waste and recycling on Monday, August 26, which will cause some delayed collections.
“If you’re due to receive a collection then please leave your waste and recycling out until it’s collected for collection by end of week.”
Last year saw the biggest change to waste collections in the town for over a decade when households were handed two additional bins to use, including a food waste bin and a blue bag for plastic and metal.
