Swindon Borough Council has warned households that the bank holiday had an impact on their waste collection service around the town.
The local authority issued a warning ahead of the August 26 bank holiday to let people know there would be reduced crews.
This meant it was likely that some collections would not be taking place.
A spokesperson for the council has now issued an update to let people know what to do if this is what happened with their household waste.
They said: "Your waste and recycling collection may have been affected by the bank holiday.
"A reduced number of crews were out collecting on Monday, August 26 which has caused some delays.
"If you were due to have your waste or recycling collected and it has not been picked up, please leave it out for collection and we will collect it by the end of this week."
Last year saw the biggest change to waste collections in the town for more than a decade when households were handed two additional bins to use, including a food waste bin and a blue bag for plastic and metal.
