Former Swindon Town midfielder Chris Kamara has announced his return to TV as he undergoes treatment for his speech condition apraxia.
Kamara, 66, left his role on Sky Sports in 2022 after being diagnosed with an underactive thyroid.
The condition impacted his speech and he was in tears while discussing the diagnosis on Good Morning Britain, revealing he had even considered taking his own life.
But now the ex-footballer who also starred for Brentford and Leeds United is back with a travel show starring alongside presenter and friend Ben Shepherd, who hosted Goals on Sunday alongside Kamara.
Shepherd said viewers can expect to see the pair “going around the UK in a campervan and exploring the various regions of the UK together.”
Kamara has said he is receiving treatment in Mexico and will be going back for a third time and despite not being back to full health, his voice is improving and he is recovering.
He told The Mail: “I've come through it with the help of the likes of Ben who have rallied around me.
"Now you think back and why was I thinking those thoughts? Get on and enjoy your life. And thankfully, I've been able to do that."
