A stranger followed an elderly woman into her Swindon home after carrying out unwanted work on the building.
Police say that at around 1.30pm on August 14, a man knocked on the front door of a George Street property and told the resident that he had cleaned her gutters.
The pensioner had not asked him to do this but went inside to get money to pay him.
The man followed her into the property and then left saying that he did not want any payment.
Wiltshire Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection to the incident and are appealing for the public's help to identify him.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "The incident left the resident feeling distressed.
