The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court recently.

MOTORWAY: Bahman Salahshour, of Dorchester Road in Bristol, has been sentenced for a driving offence.

The 55-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a black Ford C-Max along the M4 between Junctions 15 and 16 near Swindon on August 12, 2024, whilst unfit to drive through drink.

He has been banned from driving for 22 months, fined £350, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £140 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Adam Downey, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced for two offences.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to threatening a female police officer with smashing Halifax windows in Swindon on August 27, 2024, and causing £50 worth of damage to a police van on the following day.

He has been fined £200.

RODBOURNE: Kenny Spelman, of Mannington Park, has been sentenced for common assault.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to spitting at a male member of the door staff at Kioki on August 10, 2024.

The defendant must pay a fine of £288 plus £100 in compensation as well as £85 in court costs plus £115 to fund victim services.

PARK NORTH: Mark Blaney, of Banwell Avenue, has been sentenced for driving without due care and attention.

The 59-year-old pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a Ford Focus on Banwell Avenue on May 4, 2024.

He has been fined £166 and given three penalty points on his driving licence, and must also pay £85 in court costs plus £66 to fund victim services.

PEATMOOR: Guljit Rana, of Chasewood, has been sentenced for a driving offence.

The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to failing without reasonable excuse to provide a breath sample to police after driving a vehicle on August 13, 2024, in the course of an investigation into whether the defendant had committed an offence.

The driver has been fined banned from driving for 28 months, fined £1,538, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £615 to fund victim services.

HAYDON WICK: James Green, of Silbury Mews, has been sentenced for criminal damage and assault by beating.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to damaging a woman's TV, mirror and other furniture and hitting her in Swindon on March 30, 2024.

He must pay £600 in compensation along with £85 in court costs.

LIDEN: Kara Connolly, of Jacobs Walk, has been sentenced for drug driving.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit along Austen Crescent when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol , in her blood, namely 3.7 microgrammes per litre of blood, exceeded the specified limit.

The defendant has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £230, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and £92 to fund victim services.

DEVIZES: Lucy Watson, of Davies Drive, has been sentenced for a driving offence.

The 30-year-old drove an Audi Q5 along Horton Road at a speed of more than the 30mph limit on February 16, 2022.

He must pay a fine of £133 along with court costs of £45 and £34 to fund victim services.

TROWBRIDGE: Levi Ross, of Serotine Crescent, has been sentenced for thefts from a shop.

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol worth £264.20 from Sainsburys on August 12, 2024, and took alcohol worth £100 from Tesco Express on August 26.

The defendant must pay £130 and £50, respectively, in compensation.

CALNE: Maria Waite, of Woodhill Avenue, has been sentenced for criminal damage.

The 56-year-old pleaded guilty to damaging two of a man’s signs in Calne on January 7, 2024.

She must pay £6 in compensation for each damaged sign as well as £85 in court costs.
