The third annual Paint Fest has taken place in Swindon and now more drab walls and grey buildings have been injected with life and colour.

That is the aim of the event with organisers Caryn Koh and Helen Salter officially kicking things off at a launch event at sponsor Rudi's Bar - where they both enthused about the Swindon community and how positively their street art festival event had been embraced.

And throughout the weekend, members of the public travelled to various locations around the town centre, Old Town and Rodbourne to see some of the best local artists turning walls and streets into their own canvases.

At every turn, an amazing new piece of artwork was being finished, or taking shape, with onlookers watching on in awe.

She said: "It's been so amazing to see all of the hard work we've put in pay off. To see all of the community coming together and supporting our event, businesses donating paint and supplies and food, companies lending us cherry pickers and high-rise platforms, and volunteers helping out on the day.

The team had spent the best part of the year getting things ready for the event, which included sourcing permission for a number of walls and buildings in the town for artists to paint on - and then matching them with specific designs.

One member of the public said: "It's quite unbelievable, actually, that we have something like this in Swindon. Something so positive and so joyous."

Another said: "I am always blown away by the artwork left behind by Paint Fest and this year is no different. It makes everything look so much better and it brightens the place up."
