A Swindon town centre sports bar and a local fish and chip shop are among the businesses to receive new food hygiene ratings.

The Food Standards Agency has published updated results for nine establishments around the town that serve food and drink following recent inspections by Swindon Borough Council food hygiene teams during the summer.

The Happy Hub on Rodbourne Road received the full five out of five on July 15 while a visit to Grano Lab on Victoria Road led to a four out of five Good rating on August 1 and the Smile Thai Cafe and Takeaway on Eastcott Hill received the same mark on July 11.

Magic Chippy on Drove Road received the highest possible grade on July 25, as did the Waiting Room pub on Fleet Street on August 12.

The Ashford Working Mens Club on Ashford Road in Kingshill and the Queenstown Social Club on Dudmore Road in Old Walcot each received a four on July 26 and 25, respectively.

The Swindon Conservative Club was considered Generally Satisfactory on July 25 and Cuetopia on Bridge Street received the same three-out-of-five rating on July 10.

Cuetopia needs to improve its generally satisfactory management of food safety and cleanliness of the facilities, while the Conservative Club should improve those two categories and its hygienic food handling.
