TV presenter and antiques expert Paul Martin will be headlining a new antiques and vintage fair which will be opening its doors to the public for the first time in the county on Saturday, September 21.

Paul will be the star attraction at the two-day event at Trowbridge Civic Centre and he will also be valuing items for visitors throughout Saturday.

Mr Martin, who lives near Melksham, said: “I’m delighted to be asked to open this weekend event and to also run a charity auction for Wiltshire Air Ambulance at 4pm on  Saturday.

“I’m also going to be on hand to do valuations all day and I'm always intrigued about what items will be brought in and the stories they tell.”

The Wiltshire-based celebrity is working in partnership with Stephen Large of Large Events, who is now planning a series of antiques fairs across the South West.

Stephen previously ran the Chiswick Antiques Fair in London but has relocated to the South West and has spent time searching for a new and suitable venue.

He said: “Paul Martin is widely known as one of the most famous antiques celebrities and we are delighted to be associated with him.

“Visitors across the weekend can not only meet Paul but they can browse a range of antiques from jewellery to sculpture, from postcards to militaria.

"Whether you are an avid collector, a history enthusiast, or simply looking for a special piece to add to your home, the Trowbridge Antiques Fair offers something for everyone.

"Come and discover the stories behind the antiques, meet like-minded individuals, and enjoy a day filled with history, charm, and excitement."

Paul has been a TV presenter and expert for more than 20 years on programmes including BBC TV's Antiques Road Trip, Flog It!, Countryfile and many more. He has a new series, Paul Martin’s Auction Showdown, on Channel 5 this year.

It will feature antiques, brocante, collectables, jewellery, art and sculpture, stamps and coins, memorabilia, postcards, militaria, and garden and patio items.

The fair is open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, September 21, and from 10.30am to 4pm on Sunday, September 22. Entrance is £3 per person.
