A bus company has donated £23,000 to the only dedicated end-of-life care service for people in Swindon, Marlborough and north east Wiltshire.
Swindon’s Bus Company's support for Wroughton-based Prospect Hospice comes after it named the charity as its official cause for 2024 and 2025.
This will see the firm spend two years raising funds and awareness to help the hospice provide care.
Swindon's Bus Company general manager, Andrew Sherrington, said: "We know how vital this local resource is to people living in-and-around Swindon, so we have decided to boost our support with this lump sum - which is in addition to our fundraising efforts this year and next.
"We hope this latest donation will help Prospect Hospice’s excellent team in its work to create the best possible experience for patients and their families.”
The charity is also featured on the back of a bus and in on-board messaging to raise awareness of its work.
Jeremy Lune, chief executive officer of Prospect Hospice, said: "We are deeply grateful to Swindon’s Bus Company for their generous donation to Prospect Hospice.
"Your support will make a profound difference in the lives of our patients and their families, providing much-needed comfort and care during challenging times."
