They said: "Words cannot possibly even begin to convey the sense of shock and loss we feel.

"Lee had loads of friends and he was loved by everybody.

"His friends would say ‘Everybody needs a little bit of Lee Starr in their life’. And they did. Lee was wise and always knew how to make things right.

"He was kind and soft, and he was my calm to my chaos. He brought light and joy to anyone who met him and now life will never be the same without him.

"Lee will live on through his three children and granddaughter and the many, many happy memories that have been shared with us."

Ben Starr, 34, of Woodside Avenue, Ripley, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and appeared at court on Saturday, August 31.

He was released on conditional bail until his next appearance at Swindon Crown Court on September 27.

Court documents state he is banned from entering a Lincolnshire address and contacting Lee Starr and others also named Starr “to prevent interference with witnesses”.

Wiltshire Police previously said Starr was known to the victim.

On August 22 Foxhill Motocross Track was hosting the Vets Motocross Des Nations event, described as “the most anticipated race of the year”.

The event lasted four days and was a weekend of racing and entertainment at the Swindon racing track.
